Simple Crochet Square Pattern

Materials:

• Yarn: Medium weight cotton yarn in white
• Crochet Hook: Size 4.0 mm (G/6)
• Scissors
• Tapestry Needle

Gauge:

Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but each square should measure approximately 5 x 5 inches.

Abbreviations:

• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• dc: double crochet
• sl st: slip stitch

Instructions:

1. Foundation Chain: Ch 10.
2. Row 1: In the second ch from hook, dc. Dc in each ch across. (9 dc)
3. Row 2: Ch 3, turn. Dc in each dc across. (9 dc)
4. Row 3: Ch 3, turn. Dc in first dc, ch 1, dc in next dc. Repeat from * to end, finishing with dc in last st.
5. Row 4: Ch 3, turn. Dc in each dc and ch across. (9 dc)
6. Repeat Rows 3-4 until the square measures about 5 inches.
7. Finishing: Fasten off. Weave in all ends with a tapestry needle.
