Instructions
- Cast On: CO 36 stitches onto one DPN using your first color yarn.
- Join in Round: Carefully join the stitches to work in the round, making sure not to twist. Place a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of the round.
- Ribbing (Cuff): Work in ribbing pattern (k2, p2) for 12 rounds. This gives the glove a snug fit at the wrist.
- Switch to Stockinette Stitch: Knit in stockinette stitch (knit every round) for the next 20 rounds. You can switch colors here if desired, creating a striped effect.
- Thumb Hole: To create the thumb hole, you will need to bind off 6 stitches:
- On the next round, knit 15, then bind off 6 stitches, knit to the end of the round.
- Continue in Pattern: Knit the next 8 rounds, making sure to knit over the bound-off stitches and re-establishing the round.
- Return to Cuff: Switch back to ribbing pattern (k2, p2) and work for an additional 12 rounds.
- Bind Off: Bind off loosely in pattern (k2, p2) to keep the cuff stretchy. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for weaving in ends.
- Thumb (optional): For a thumb, using the tail from your previous round, pick up the 6 bound-off stitches from the thumb hole. Place on DPNs and knit for 10 rounds before binding off.
- Finishing: Weave in all ends using the tapestry needle and block your gloves gently if needed.
Repeat these steps to make a second glove. Enjoy your cozy fingerless gloves!
