Crochet Textured Modern Stitch Rectangle Pillow Cover Free Pattern

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn (approximately 200 yards)
• 5 mm (H) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
• 18" x 12" pillow form

Gauge:

10 double crochets and 10 rows = 4 inches in pattern.

Stitches Used:

• Chain (ch)
• Double crochet (dc)
• Front post double crochet (fpdc)
• Back post double crochet (bpdc)

Instructions:

Base Row:

1. Ch 52.
2. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 6 ch, *fpdc around next ch, dc in next 7 ch; repeat from * across to last 2 ch, dc in last 2 ch. (50 dc)

Repeat Pattern:

1. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), *fpdc around the fpdc of the previous row, dc in the next 7 dc; repeat from * across to the last st, dc in the top of the turning ch.
2. Row 3: Ch 3, *bpdc around the fpdc from two rows below, dc in next 7 dc; repeat from * across to the last st, dc in the top of the turning ch.
3. Row 4: Ch 3, *fpdc around the bpdc from the previous row, dc in next 7 dc; repeat from * across to the last st, dc in the top of the turning ch.

Continue to repeat Rows 2-4 until the piece measures approximately 18 inches long, or until desired length.

Finishing:

1. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
2. Fold the piece in half with the right sides facing each other.
3. Using the yarn needle, seam the sides together, leaving one end open.
4. Turn the pillow cover right side out and insert the pillow form.
5. Finish seaming the opening securely.
