Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in four colors: cream, light brown, medium brown, dark brown
- Crochet hook size I/9 (5.5 mm)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors

- Chain (ch)
- Single crochet (sc)
- Double crochet (dc)
- Slip stitch (sl st)
Instructions
Base Layer
- With cream yarn, ch 72.
- Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (71 sc)
- Row 2-3: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.
Color Pattern
- Change to light brown yarn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. Repeat for 2 more rows. - Change to medium brown yarn.
Row 7: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. Repeat for 2 more rows. - Change to dark brown yarn.
Row 10: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. Repeat for 2 more rows.
Geometric Pattern
Using cream yarn:
- Row 13: Ch 3 (counts as dc), *dc in next 2 sts, skip next st, dc in next st, go back and dc in skipped st (crossed dc made)*, repeat from * to * across, ending with dc in last st, turn.
- Repeat Rows 4-13, adjusting colors to maintain the pattern seen in the image, alternating every 3 rows.
Border
- With dark brown yarn, sc evenly around the entire edge of the rug, working 3 sc in each corner st, sl st to first sc to join.
- Fasten off and weave in all ends with a tapestry needle.
Note: Adjust the number of rows for a larger or smaller rug, maintaining the color pattern sequence.
