Cozy Knit Blanket Pattern

This pattern will guide you in creating a soft, creamy knit blanket. The blanket features a combination of stockinette and rib stitches, making it an inviting project for knitters of all levels.

Materials

  • Yarn: 8 skeins of worsted weight yarn, approximately 200 yards each, in a cream color
  • Knitting Needles: Size 8 (5mm) circular needles, 32 inches long
  • Scissors
  • Yarn Needle for weaving in ends

Gauge

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Note: Always check your gauge. If it’s too loose, try a smaller needle.

  3. Row 2: K1, *P1, K1; repeat from * across the row to end.
  4. Repeat Rows 1 and 2: until the piece measures 8 inches from the cast-on edge.
  5. Next Rows: Switch to stockinette stitch - K every row until the blanket measures 40 inches long.
  6. Ribbing for the Border: Once the body is complete, switch back to ribbing for the last 8 inches: K1, *P1, K1; repeat from * across.
  7. Bind Off: Bind off all stitches in ribbing pattern.
  8. Finishing: Weave in all ends using the yarn needle. Block the blanket if desired to give it a finished look.
