Striped Crochet Scarf

Materials Needed
- Worsted weight yarn in three colors: Dark Brown, Light Brown, and Cream

Gauge
12 double crochets and 7 rows = 4 inches square.
Abbreviations
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- rep = repeat
- FO = fasten off
Instructions
- Starting: With Dark Brown yarn, make a slip knot and ch 30.
- Row 1: In the 4th ch from the hook, dc. DC in each remaining ch across. (28 dc total). Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each dc across. Turn.
- Rows 3-10: Repeat Row 2 until your scarf measures about 6 inches, ending after Row 10.
- Change to Light Brown: At the end of Row 10, switch yarn colors to Light Brown.
- Rows 11-20: Repeat Row 2 for 10 rows in Light Brown. Your scarf should now measure approximately 12 inches.
- Change to Cream: At the end of Row 20, switch yarn colors to Cream.
- Rows 21-30: Repeat Row 2 for 10 rows in Cream. You should now have a scarf measuring about 18 inches.
- Return to Light Brown: At the end of Row 30, change back to Light Brown for the next section.
- Rows 31-40: Repeat Row 2 in Light Brown for 10 rows, making the total length approximately 24 inches.
- Return to Dark Brown: At the end of Row 40, change back to Dark Brown.
- Rows 41-50: Repeat Row 2 in Dark Brown for 10 rows.
- Finishing: FO and weave in all ends with the tapestry needle.
For the fringes, cut several strands of each color yarn to about 5 inches in length. Group them into bundles and attach to each end of the scarf by folding them in half and pulling through the edge stitches.
