Lacy Fingerless Gloves

These fingerless gloves are designed with a beautiful lacy pattern that is both functional and stylish. Let’s get started on creating this charming project!

Materials

• Sport Weight Yarn (approximately 100 yards in a light cream or pale pink)
• Size 3.5 mm (US 4) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge

For this project, your gauge should be: 18 stitches = 4 inches in pattern stitch. Adjust your hook size if necessary to achieve the correct gauge.

Instructions

Make Two Gloves

Wrist Band:

1. Start with a slip knot on your hook.
2. Ch 30 for the wrist band (or adjust based on how snugly you want it to fit).
3. Row 1: In 2nd ch from hook, dc across (28 dc). Turn.
4. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next st, *ch 1, skip 1 st, dc in next st; repeat from * across. Turn.
5. Row 3: Ch 3, dc in next st, *ch 1, dc in ch-1 space; repeat from * across. Turn.
6. Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until the band measures approximately 8 inches. Do not fasten off.
7. Fold the wrist band in half and sl st the ends together to form a tube.
8. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Glove Body:

1. With yarn still attached to the wrist band, ch 1.
2. Round 1: 2 dc in each st around (56 dc total). Join with sl st to the top of the first dc.
3. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in next st, *ch 1, skip 1 st, dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to the top of the first dc.
4. Round 3: Ch 3, dc in next ch-1 space, *ch 1, dc in next ch-1 space; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to the top of the first dc.
5. Continue to repeat Rounds 2 and 3 until the glove reaches about 6 inches tall or your desired length, ending with a Round 2.
6. To create the thumb hole, skip about 12 stitches (or adjust based on your hand size) and work in the remaining st until you’ve gone around the whole glove. Join to the first dc.
7. Fasten off after the last round and weave in your ends.

Finishing:

Repeat the process for the second glove.
