Whimsical Wavy Ripple Blanket Pattern
This adorable ripple blanket is great for babies and adds a joyful touch to any nursery. The alternating wave pattern creates a soothing rhythmic effect, making it as beautiful as it is functional.
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in 4 colors (approx. 150 yards each)
- Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge
4 rows of 12 double crochets = 4 inches in width (before blocking)
Finished Size
Approximately 30 inches x 36 inches
Stitches Used
- Chain (ch)
- Double crochet (dc)
- Slip stitch (sl st)
Pattern Instructions
- Ch 110 to begin. To adjust size, ensure your chain is a multiple of 14 plus 2.
- Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, (dc in each of the next 2 ch, 2 dc in next ch) repeat until the last three chains, dc in the last ch. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in next dc, (2 dc in next dc, dc in each of the next 2 dc) repeat across, dc in top of ch 3. Turn.
- Row 3: Ch 3, dc in the same dc, (dc in each of the next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc) repeat across. Turn.
- Repeat Rows 2 and 3, changing colors every 6 rows as desired until you reach your preferred length.
- Edging: With the last color, sc around the entire blanket, placing 3 sc in each corner. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Care Instructions
Machine wash on gentle cycle, tumble dry low.
