Textured Cloud Stitch Throw Blanket Pattern
Skill Level: Beginner
Size: 50" x 60" (adjustable)
Materials:
- Bulky weight yarn (approx. 1,200 yards)
- Size N (10.0 mm) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Stitches Used:
- Chain (ch)
- Single crochet (sc)
- Double crochet (dc)
- Cloud stitch (instructions below)
Instructions:
Creating the Foundation:
- Ch 75 (or any multiple of 6 plus 3 for width).
Row 1:
- In the 4th ch from hook, dc.
*Skip 2 ch, in next ch (1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) – this forms the cloud stitch.* Repeat from * to * across. Finish with 1 dc in the last ch. Turn.
Row 2:
- Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn.
*In each cloud stitch, (1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc).* Repeat across to the last dc where you will make another dc. Turn.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2:
- Continue this pattern until the blanket reaches your desired length (about 60" recommended).
Finishing:
- Finish with a border of sc around the entire blanket:
Ch 1 and sc in each stitch, making 3 sc in each corner stitch for a clean finish. Fasten off.
Notes:
- Use a bulky weight yarn for optimal fluffiness.
- This pattern can be easily adjusted for size by changing the number of foundation chains.
