Materials

  • Worsted weight yarn in various colors (A, B, C, D)
  • 4.5 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends
  • Scissors

Gauge

4" x 4" = 14 stitches x 12 rows in double crochet.

Flower Motif (Make 20)

  1. With Color A, create a magic ring.
  2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 11 dc into the ring. Join with a sl st to the top of the ch 3 (12 dc).
  3. Round 2: Change to Color B. Ch 1, *sc in next dc, 3 dc in next dc*; repeat from * around. Join with a sl st to first sc (12 petals).
  4. Round 3: Change to Color C. Ch 1, *sc in center of each petal, ch 2*; repeat from * around. Join with a sl st to first sc (12 ch-2 spaces).
  5. Round 4: Change to Color D. In each ch-2 space, work 3 puff stitches (puff: yarn over, pull through; repeat 3 times). Join with a sl st to the top of the first puff. Fasten off.

Joining the Motifs

Arrange the motifs in a pleasing pattern. Use the zigzag technique to join them:

  1. Place two motifs right sides together.
  2. Using Color A, ch 1 and sc through both layers to join, working along the edges.
  3. Continue until you've joined all motifs, ensuring they lay flat.

Border

  1. With Color D, attach yarn to any corner of the blanket.
  2. Round 1: Ch 1, sc in each stitch around, making 3 sc in each corner stitch.
  3. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in each sc around, making 3 dc in each corner stitch.
  4. Round 3: Ch 1, *sc in each dc round*; repeat from * around. Join with a sl st to first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Approximate Finished Size
