Patchwork Squares

Each square is made using the following pattern. You will create a total of 20 squares in varying colors.

Square Pattern:
1. Start with a magic ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc in the ring, join with sl st to top of beginning ch-3. (12 dc)
3. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same stitch, 2 dc in each stitch around, join. (24 dc)
4. Round 3: Ch 3, *dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch; repeat from * around, join. (36 dc)
5. Round 4: Ch 3, *dc in next 2 stitches, 2 dc in next stitch; repeat from * around, join. (48 dc)
6. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Assembling the Throw

1. Lay out your squares in a 4x5 grid, arranging colors as desired. 2. Using the whip stitch or slip stitch method, sew the squares together row by row. 3. Once all squares are joined, create a border around the entire throw:

Border Pattern:
1. With a new color, attach yarn to a corner.
2. Ch 1, sc evenly around the edge of the blanket, placing 3 sc in each corner.
3. Join to the first sc with a sl st.
4. Repeat for a second round if desired for added depth.

Weave in any remaining ends and your vibrant geometric patchwork throw is ready to snuggle with! Enjoy the cozy warmth and delightful colors that brighten your home.
