Crochet Versatile Pocketed Cozy Throw Blanket Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn (approximately 1000 yards)
- Size I/9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Gauge:
5 stitches and 6 rows = 4 inches in double crochet.
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
Instructions:
Body of the Blanket:
- Chain 120 for the foundation row.
- Row 1: dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in each ch across. Turn.
- Row 2: ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each dc across. Turn.
- Repeat Row 2 until the blanket measures approximately 60 inches in length.
Pocket:
- Chain 40 for the foundation row.
- Row 1: dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in each ch across. Turn.
- Row 2: ch 3, dc in each dc across. Turn.
- Repeat Row 2 until the pocket measures approximately 12 inches in height.
Assembly:
- Position the pocket on one end of the blanket, centered.
- Using a yarn needle, sew the sides and bottom of the pocket to the blanket, leaving the top open.
- Secure all loose ends and weave in any yarn tails.
Finishing:
Block your throw lightly to even out the stitches, and enjoy your cozy creation!
