Materials Needed:
- Super bulky yarn (approximately 800 yards)
- Size N (10 mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge:
Gauge is not critical for this project; however, for a standard size blanket, aim for about 2 stitches per inch with the chosen yarn and hook.
Finished Size:
Approximately 50 inches wide by 60 inches long.
Stitch Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
Instructions:
Foundation:
Chain 60 (or desired width of your blanket).
Row 1:
In the 2nd chain from the hook, sc across. (58 sc)
Row 2:
Ch 2 (counts as first dc), dc in the first sc, dc in each sc across. (58 dc)
Row 3:
Ch 1, turn. Sc in the first dc, *ch 1, skip 1 dc, sc in the next dc; repeat from * across. (29 sc)
Row 4:
Ch 2, turn. Dc in each sc across. (29 dc)
Rows 5-20:
Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until blanket reaches desired length.
Final Row:
Ch 1. Sc in each stitch across to create a solid edge.
Finishing:

Optional Edging:
