Materials

  • Hook: US – N/15, 10 mm hook
  • Yarn: 400 yds (4 balls total) of Soft Comfort Yarn
  • Color A: Sunset Coral, 2 balls
  • Color B: Golden Sand, 2 balls

Finished Size

Approximately 36″ wide x 40″ high (can be adjusted larger or smaller)

Gauge

1 wave pattern repeat = 3″; 1 wave row pattern repeat = 2 ¾”

Pattern Notes

This blanket is made using alternating wave and solid stitches. The pattern is worked in rows and can be customized in size by adjusting stitch count.

Instructions

  1. Chain 90 (multiples of 12 + 6 for turning chain) in Color A.
  2. Row 1: In the 3rd chain from the hook, make 1 double crochet, *skip 2 chains, 5 double crochet in the next chain (this forms the wave), skip 2 chains, 1 double crochet in the next chain; repeat from * to the end of the row. Turn.
  3. Row 2: Chain 2, make 1 double crochet in the first stitch, then in the next wave make 1 double crochet into the top of the previous wave. In between waves, make 1 double crochet. Repeat until end. Turn.
  4. Repeat Row 2 until your blanket measures approximately 40” in height, alternating with Color B every 6 rows or as desired for variation.
  5. Border: With Color A, single crochet around the entire blanket, adding stitches at corners for a smooth finish. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Finishing
