Crochet Textured Twisted Ribbed Neckwarmer Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • Worsted weight yarn (200 yards, self-striping recommended)
  • crochet hook (US size I/9 - 5.5mm)
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge:

15 stitches x 12 rows = 4" in pattern stitch (adjust hook size if necessary to achieve gauge)

Size:

The finished neckwarmer measures approximately 9" wide and 24" in circumference.

Stitch Abbreviations:

  • ch - chain
  • dc - double crochet
  • fpdc - front post double crochet
  • bpdc - back post double crochet

Pattern Instructions:

Starting:

Ch 60 (or any even number for desired width, adjust for smaller or larger sizes).

Row 1:

In the 4th ch from the hook, dc and dc in the next 2 ch. (fpdc in the next ch, bpdc in the next ch) repeat across to the last 2 ch, dc in the last 2 ch. Turn.

Row 2:

Ch 3 (this counts as your first dc), (bpdc in the next ch, fpdc in the next ch) repeat across, ending with a dc in the last st. Turn.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2

Continue repeating Rows 1 and 2 until the piece measures approximately 24”.

Joining:

Sl st to join ends together, forming a circle.

Finishing:

Fasten off and weave in all ends with a tapestry needle. Block lightly if desired.

Notes:

  • This neckwarmer can be adjusted in size easily by increasing or decreasing the starting chain.
  • Using self-striping yarn will add a beautiful color blend throughout the project.
