Textured Twisted Mug Wrap
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn (approx. 100 yards)
- 5.0 mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Measuring tape
Gauge: 14 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches in twisted pattern
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- tw = twisted stitch (see instructions)
- sl st = slip stitch
- st(s) = stitch(es)
Instructions:
- Foundation Row: Ch 38.
- Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch across. (37 sc)
- Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across.
- Row 3: Ch 2, turn. Dc in first sc, *tw in next st (twist around the crochet hook before pulling yarn), dc in next st*. Repeat from * to * across until 1 sc remains, dc in last st. (18 dc, 18 tw)
- Row 4: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each dc/tw across.
- Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until your piece reaches your desired length, generally around 8-10 inches.
- To shape the wrap, sl st along the edge to create a tightly fitted twist, then fold in half, aligning edges.
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
Finishing:
For extra flair, consider adding buttons or decorative stitches along the edges for a personalized touch!
