Materials Needed
- Yarn: Worsted weight in three colors – Burgundy, Cream, and Charcoal Gray.
- Crochet Hook: Size H/8 (5.0 mm)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge
4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm) = 16 sts x 20 rows in single crochet.
Abbreviations
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- st(s): stitch(es)
- MC: main color
- CC1: contrast color 1
- CC2: contrast color 2
Instructions
Foundation Row
With MC, ch 210 (or desired length for scarf).
Row 1
Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (209 sts)
Rows 2-10
Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Rows 11-20
Switch to CC1. Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Rows 21-30
Switch to CC2. Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Rows 31-40
Switch to MC. Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Repeat Pattern
Repeat Rows 11-40 until scarf reaches desired width. End with 10 rows of MC.
Fringe
Cut 10" lengths of each color yarn. For each fringe, use two strands; fold in half and attach to the ends of the scarf, spacing evenly.
Finishing
Weave in all ends with a tapestry needle. Block the scarf if necessary to lay flat.
