Crochet Textured Striped Lapghan with Unique Twisted Stitches Free Pattern

Materials:

  • Light worsted weight #3 (DK) yarn in four colors (choose any berry-inspired palette)
  • 5.00mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends
  • Scissors

Gauge: 15 stitches and 10 rows = 4 inches in twisted stitch pattern.

Finished Dimensions: Approximately 36" x 48"

Stitch Abbreviations:

  • CH = Chain
  • SC = Single Crochet
  • TC = Treble Crochet
  • TS = Twisted Stitch (see explanation below)

Twisted Stitch (TS):

To create a twisted stitch, yarn over and pull through the first loop, yarn over again and pull through the next two loops. Then yarn over and pull through the last two loops, twisting the yarn as you pull through.

Instructions:

  1. Chain 120 to start the foundation row.
  2. Row 1: SC in the second chain from the hook, SC in each chain across. (119 SC)
  3. Row 2: CH 1, turn. SC in the first stitch, *TS in the next stitch, SC in the following stitch; repeat from * across to end. (60 TS, 59 SC)
  4. Row 3: CH 1, turn. SC in the first stitch, *SC in the next stitch, TS in the following stitch; repeat from * across to end. (59 SC, 60 TS)
  5. Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the piece measures approximately 48" in length, changing colors every 8 rows or as preferred.
  6. Final Row: CH 1, turn. SC in each stitch across, fastening off at the end.
  7. Weave in all ends with a yarn needle.

Finishing:
