Textured Braided Square Blanket Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Bulky weight yarn (approximately 600 yards)
• Size N/15 (10mm) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle

Gauge:

Each square should measure approximately 12" x 12".

Abbreviations:

ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
bpdc = back post double crochet

Instructions:

Square Base:

1. Ch 30.
2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch across. (29 sc)
3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, dc in each st across. (29 dc)
4. Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in first st, (bpdc in next st, sc in next st) across to last st, sc in last st.
5. Repeat Row 3 until piece measures 12". Fasten off.

Joining Squares:

Place two squares right sides together. Join with a slip stitch through the outer edge, working through both layers.

Finishing:
