Crochet Soft Textured Waves Toddler Throw Blanket
Skill Level: Easy
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn (approx. 700-800 yards) in three contrasting colors
- Hook size: 5.5 mm (I-9)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge: 14 stitches and 10 rows = 4 inches in wave pattern (adjust hook size if necessary)
Finished Dimensions: Approximately 30 x 40 inches
Instructions:
- Foundation Chain: Chain 110 using the first color.
- Row 1: Double crochet in the 4th chain from the hook, then double crochet in each chain across. Turn.
- Row 2: Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet), *skip next double crochet, double crochet in the next, double crochet in skipped stitch; repeat from * across. Turn.
- Row 3: Change to the second color. Chain 3, double crochet in each stitch across. Turn.
- Row 4: Chain 3, *skip next double crochet, double crochet in the next, double crochet in skipped stitch; repeat from * across. Turn.
- Row 5: Change to the third color. Repeat Row 3.
- Row 6: Repeat Row 4.
- Continue alternating colors and repeating Rows 3 and 4 until the blanket reaches your desired length, ending with the second color.
- Border: For a neat finish, single crochet across all edges, placing 3 single crochets in each corner. Slip stitch to join, then fasten off and weave in ends.
Care Instructions: Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry.
