  • Crochet Hook: Size H/8 (5.0 mm)
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends

Dimensions:

Approximately 40 inches x 60 inches when finished.

Stitches Used:

  • Chain Stitch (ch)
  • Double Crochet (dc)
  • Slip Stitch (sl st)
  • Half Double Crochet (hdc)

Pattern Instructions:

Note: This blanket is worked in rows with a wave pattern, changing colors every few rows.

Row 1:

  1. Chain 100.
  2. In the 4th chain from the hook, work 2 dc. This forms the first wave.
  3. Skip 2 chains, in the next chain work 3 dc to form the peak of the wave.
  4. Skip 2 chains, work 2 dc in the next chain to complete the wave.
  5. Repeat this pattern until the end of the row, ending with a sl st into the top of the beginning ch.

Row 2:

  1. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn your work.
  2. In the first wave, work 2 dc.
  3. For the peak, work 3 dc in the peak of the wave; then for the next wave, work 2 dc.
  4. Repeat until the end and finish with a sl st.

Continue Pattern:

Repeat Row 2, alternating colors every 4 rows. You can create a gradient effect or mix colors for a more playful look!

Finishing:

  1. Once you reach your desired size, fasten off your yarn.
  2. Weave in any loose ends with a tapestry needle.
  3. Optional: Add a border by working single crochet stitches around the entire blanket for a polished finish.

Care Instructions:

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry or tumble on low heat.
