Instructions

Hat Body

  1. Make a magic ring.
  2. Round 1: Ch 2 (does not count as a st here and throughout), 10 hdc into the ring. Sl st to the first hdc. (10 sts)
  3. Round 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in each st around. Sl st to first hdc. (20 sts)
  4. Round 3: Ch 2, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st*. Repeat from * to * around. Sl st to first hdc. (30 sts)
  5. Round 4: Ch 2, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in each of next 2 sts*. Repeat from * to * around. Sl st to first hdc. (40 sts)
  6. Round 5: Ch 2, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in each of next 3 sts*. Repeat from * to * around. Sl st to first hdc. (50 sts)
  7. Round 6: Ch 2, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in each of next 4 sts*. Repeat from * to * around. Sl st to first hdc. (60 sts)
  8. Rounds 7-15: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Sl st to first hdc. (60 sts)

Ribbed Brim

  1. Round 16: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Sl st to first sc. (60 sts)
  2. Round 17: Ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch down. Sl st in next 2 sts of the hat body, turn.
  3. Round 18: Skip the 2 sl sts, sc in blo of each sc to end of ribbing row, ch 1, turn.
  4. Repeat rounds 17 and 18 around the hat, joining each row to the hat body.
  5. Finish by slip stitching the last row to the first row of the ribbing. Fasten off and weave in ends.
