Crochet Rustic Zig-Zag Bottle Bag Free Pattern

Materials

  • 100% cotton yarn in three colors: cream, rust, and mustard.
  • Crochet hook size H/8 – 5mm
  • Yarn needle

Abbreviations (US Terminology)

  • ch - chain
  • sc - single crochet
  • dc - double crochet
  • sl st - slip stitch

Instructions

Base

  1. Using cream yarn, ch 5 and join to form a ring.
  2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 11 dc into ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (12 dc)
  3. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same sp, 2 dc in each dc around. Join. (24 dc)
  4. Round 3: Ch 3, *1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc*; repeat from * to * around. Join. (36 dc)

Body (Change colors as indicated: cream, rust, mustard)

  1. Round 4: Ch 3, dc in next dc, *5 dc, skip 2 dc, 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc*; repeat around. Join. (Begin color pattern: cream)
  2. Rounds 5-22: Repeat Round 4, alternating colors every two rounds (rust, mustard).

Handle

  1. Attach cream yarn, ch 70 for the handle.
  2. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off and sew the ends to opposite sides of the bag.

Finishing

Weave in all ends with a yarn needle and block the bag to shape.
