Playful Twirl Ruffled Skirt Pattern

Materials Needed:

• 1 skein of soft cotton yarn (medium weight) in a main color
• 1 skein of contrasting cotton yarn in a second color for the ruffles
• 4.0 mm (G-6) crochet hook
• Stitch markers
• Yarn needle

Gauge:

15 stitches and 18 rows in double crochet = 4 inches.

Sizes:

This pattern is designed for a 3-year-old but includes instructions for adjusting sizes.

Pattern Instructions:

Skirt Body:

1. Chain 72 (or any multiple of 6 for desired size).
2. Row 1: Dc in the 4th chain from the hook, dc across to the end. Turn.
3. Row 2-15: Ch 3, dc in each dc across. Turn.
4. Fasten off and leave a long tail for seaming.

Ruffle Layer (make 3):

1. Using the contrasting color, chain 45.
2. Row 1: Dc in the 4th chain from the hook, 2 dc in each stitch across. Turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 3, *dc in the first st, 2 dc in the next st; repeat from * across. Turn.
4. Row 3-5: Ch 3, dc in each stitch across. Turn.
5. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Assembly:

1. Gather the top edge of each ruffle layer to create a ruffled effect.
2. Attach the ruffles to the bottom of the skirt body evenly spaced using the yarn needle.
3. Fold over the top edge of the skirt to create a waistband and seam it securely.

Finishing:

Weave in all ends. Add optional decorative buttons or bows for added flair!
