Crochet Playful Dinosaur Spiked Socks Free Pattern

Materials:

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in purple
• Crochet hook: Size H (5.0 mm)
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle

Gauge:

12 stitches and 14 rows = 4 inches in single crochet

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• st = stitch
• sl st = slip stitch
• inc = increase (2 sc in one st)
• dec = decrease (sc 2 together)

Pattern Instructions:

Cuff:

1. Ch 10.
2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (9 sc)
3. Row 2-50: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across.
4. Join ends together with sl st to form a cuff.

Leg:

5. Round 1: Ch 1, sc evenly around the edge of the cuff. Join with sl st. (approx. 40 sc)
6. Round 2-20: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st.

Heel Flap:

7. Row 1: Ch 1, sc in next 20 sts. Leave remaining sts unworked.
8. Row 2-10: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across.

Heel Turn:

11. Row 1: Ch 1, sc in next 12 sts, dec over next 2 sts, turn.
12. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in next 10 sts, dec over next 2 sts, turn.
13. Continue in this manner until 8 sts remain.

Foot:

15. Round 2-30: Ch 1, sc in each st around.

Toe:

17. Round 1: *Sc in next 6 sts, dec* repeat around. (42 sts)

19. Continue decreasing in this manner until 12 sts remain.
20. Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Use tapestry needle to weave tail through remaining sts and pull tight to close.

Spikes:

21. Make 6 spikes: Ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st next 6 ch, fasten off leaving a tail. Attach spikes evenly along the side of the sock using the tails and tapestry needle.
