Coastal Waves Blanket

This wonderfully textured blanket combines alternating stitches for a wave-like appearance, making it a stunning addition to any living space.

Materials

  • Worsted (4) Weight Yarn:
    • Sand (2 skeins, 1550 yards)
    • Ocean Blue (1 skein, 470 yards)
    • Seashell Pink (1 skein, 400 yards)
  • 6.00mm Crochet Hook
  • Yarn Needle
  • Scissors

Pattern Notes

  • The Ch1 and Ch2 do not count as stitches.
  • Work all rows in a continuous spiral without joining unless instructed.
  • Leave long tails for weaving in at the color changes.
  • For texture, work into the front and back loops as indicated.

  • Ch = Chain
  • Hdc = Half Double Crochet
  • Dc = Double Crochet
  • Sc = Single Crochet
  • FLO = Front Loop Only
  • BLO = Back Loop Only

Pattern Instructions

Foundation Row:

With Sand, Ch 160.

Row 1:

Hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook and in each ch across. (158 hdc)

Row 2:

Ch 1, Hdc (FLO) in each stitch across.

Row 3:

Change to Ocean Blue. Ch 2, Dc in the first stitch, Hdc in the next, repeat across.

Row 4:

Ch 1, Sc in each stitch across.

Row 5:

Change to Seashell Pink. Ch 1, Sc in the first stitch, Hdc in the next, and Dc in the next. Repeat this pattern across.

Continue Alternating:

Continue alternating colors and stitches (following the established pattern) until the blanket reaches the desired length of 64”.

Final Row:

For the last row, use Sand and Hdc (BLO) in each stitch for a neat finish.

Finishing:

Cut yarn and weave in all ends securely. Block your blanket gently to shape.
