Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn in beige

Abbreviations:

• ch - chain
• sc - single crochet
• hdc - half double crochet
• sl st - slip stitch
• bl - back loop

Instructions:

Ribbed Band

1. Ch 10.
2. Row 1: Sc in the second ch from hook and in each ch across. (9 sc)
3. Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in bl of each st across. (9 sc)
4. Repeat Row 2 until the band measures 18 inches, or fits snugly around head.
5. Join ends with a sl st to form a ring.

Main Body

6. Round 1: Ch 1, sc around edge of band, evenly spacing 60 sts. Join with sl st to first sc.
7. Round 2: Ch 1, hdc in each st around. Join with sl st to first hdc.
8. Round 3: Ch 1, sc in bl of each hdc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
9. Repeat Rounds 2 and 3 for a total of 15 rounds or until the desired height is reached.

Finishing

10. Fasten off and leave a long tail for closing the top.
11. Weave the tail in and out around the top edge stitches, pull tight to close the opening, and secure.
