Crochet Festive Holiday Wreath with Poinsettias and Pinecones Free Pattern

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in green, red, brown, cream, and gold
  • 5.0 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors

  • Styrofoam wreath base (12 inches)
  • Hot glue gun

Abbreviations:

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • dc: double crochet
  • sl st: slip stitch
  • st: stitch

Instructions:

Wreath Base:

  1. With green yarn, create a slipknot and ch enough to wrap around the wreath base. Join with a sl st to form a circle, ensuring it fits snugly around the base.
  2. Round 1: Sc in each ch around, sl st to join. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
  3. Slip the cover over the wreath base, using the tail to stitch it closed.

Poinsettias:

  1. With red yarn, ch 5, join with a sl st to form a ring.
  2. Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as dc), 9 dc into the ring. Join with sl st. (10 dc)
  3. Round 2: *Ch 5, sl st in next dc* repeat around, creating petals. Fasten off.
  4. Attach gold yarn in the center with a few decorative stitches for the centers.

Leaves:

  1. With green yarn, ch 10.
  2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next, dc in next 4, hdc in next, sc in last. Fasten off. (9 sts)
  3. Make 8-10 leaves.

Pinecones:

  1. With brown yarn, ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring.
  2. Round 1: 6 sc in ring, join with sl st.
  3. Round 2: *Sc, ch 3, sl st in same sc, sk next sc* repeat around. Fasten off.

Berries:

  1. With red or cream yarn, ch 2.
  2. Round 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st. Fasten off. (6 sc)
  3. Make several in varying colors.

Bow:

  1. With red yarn, ch 40.
  2. Row 1-3: Dc in each ch, ch 2, turn at the end of each row.
  3. Fasten off and shape into a bow. Secure the center with yarn.

Assembly:

  • Arrange poinsettias, leaves, pinecones, and berries around the wreath as desired, securing with hot glue.
  • Attach the bow at the top center.
  • Attach the hanging ribbon to the back.
  • Hang and enjoy your festive holiday wreath!
