Crochet Elegant Textured Leaf Motif Throw Pillow Free Pattern
Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn (approximately 200 yards)
- H/8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
- Inserts (16" x 16" pillow form)
Stitches Used:
- Chain (ch)
- Slip stitch (sl st)
- Single crochet (sc)
- Double crochet (dc)
- Cluster stitch
- Shell stitch
Pattern Instructions:
Panel (Make 2):
- Chain 42.
- Row 1: DC in the 4th ch from the hook, *ch 1, skip 1 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch; repeat from * to end. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 2, *dc in next cluster, (ch 2, sc in the next ch-1 space); repeat from * to the last cluster, dc in last cluster. Turn.
- Repeat Rows 1-2 until the piece measures 16 inches in length or desired height.
Leaf Motif (Make 4):
- Chain 10.
- Row 1: DC in 4th ch from hook, ch 1, (dc, ch 1) in each of the next 5 ch, finish with 3 dc in the last ch. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 2, (2 dc in ch-1 space, ch 1) 3 times, 3 dc in top of the last stitch. Fasten off.
Assembly:
- Place the two panels right sides together.
- Pin the leaf motifs in place evenly spaced around the edges.
- Using sl st, attach the motifs along the edges of the panels.
- Once motifs are attached, crochet around the outer edge of the pillow cover, making sure to leave an opening for stuffing.
- Insert pillow form and finish closing the edge.
Finishing:
Weave in all ends and give your pillow a gentle block to shape it nicely.
