Crochet Elegant Textured Leaf Motif Throw Pillow Free Pattern

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn (approximately 200 yards)
  • H/8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
  • Inserts (16" x 16" pillow form)

Stitches Used:

  • Chain (ch)
  • Slip stitch (sl st)
  • Single crochet (sc)
  • Double crochet (dc)
  • Cluster stitch
  • Shell stitch

Pattern Instructions:

Panel (Make 2):

  1. Chain 42.
  2. Row 1: DC in the 4th ch from the hook, *ch 1, skip 1 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch; repeat from * to end. Turn.
  3. Row 2: Ch 2, *dc in next cluster, (ch 2, sc in the next ch-1 space); repeat from * to the last cluster, dc in last cluster. Turn.
  4. Repeat Rows 1-2 until the piece measures 16 inches in length or desired height.

Leaf Motif (Make 4):

  1. Chain 10.
  2. Row 1: DC in 4th ch from hook, ch 1, (dc, ch 1) in each of the next 5 ch, finish with 3 dc in the last ch. Turn.
  3. Row 2: Ch 2, (2 dc in ch-1 space, ch 1) 3 times, 3 dc in top of the last stitch. Fasten off.

Assembly:

  1. Place the two panels right sides together.
  2. Pin the leaf motifs in place evenly spaced around the edges.
  3. Using sl st, attach the motifs along the edges of the panels.
  4. Once motifs are attached, crochet around the outer edge of the pillow cover, making sure to leave an opening for stuffing.
  5. Insert pillow form and finish closing the edge.

Finishing:

Weave in all ends and give your pillow a gentle block to shape it nicely.
