Crochet Lacy Potholder Pattern
Materials Needed
- Cotton yarn (worsted weight) in cream
- Crochet hook size H/5.0mm
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
Instructions
Base
- Ch 42.
- Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (41 sts)
- Row 2-3: Ch 1, sc across. Turn.
Main Pattern
- Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as dc), sk 1 st, *(dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, sk 1 st*; repeat from * across ending with dc in last st. Turn.
- Row 5: Ch 3, *(dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-1 space*; repeat from * across ending with dc in top of turning ch. Turn.
- Repeat Row 5 until piece measures approximately 10 inches from starting edge.
Top Border
- Row 6: Ch 1, sc in each st and ch-1 space across. Turn.
- Row 7: Repeat Row 6.
Hanging Loop
- Ch 15, sl st to join and form a loop at the top corner. Fasten off and weave in ends.
