Crochet Lacy Potholder Pattern

Materials Needed

  • Cotton yarn (worsted weight) in cream
  • Crochet hook size H/5.0mm
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Abbreviations

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch

Instructions

Base

  1. Ch 42.
  2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (41 sts)
  3. Row 2-3: Ch 1, sc across. Turn.

Main Pattern

  1. Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as dc), sk 1 st, *(dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, sk 1 st*; repeat from * across ending with dc in last st. Turn.
  2. Row 5: Ch 3, *(dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-1 space*; repeat from * across ending with dc in top of turning ch. Turn.
  3. Repeat Row 5 until piece measures approximately 10 inches from starting edge.

Top Border

  1. Row 6: Ch 1, sc in each st and ch-1 space across. Turn.
  2. Row 7: Repeat Row 6.

Hanging Loop

  1. Ch 15, sl st to join and form a loop at the top corner. Fasten off and weave in ends.
