Frosty Mandala Throw Blanket Pattern
Materials:
- Yarn: 6 skeins of DK weight yarn in 3 colors (white, light blue, and navy blue)
- Hook: 4.0 mm (G) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Abbreviations:
- CH = Chain
- SC = Single Crochet
- DC = Double Crochet
- SL ST = Slip Stitch
- ST = Stitch
Blanket Dimensions: Approximately 50" x 60" when completed.
Instructions:
Base Round:
- With white yarn, CH 120 and join with SL ST to form a ring.
Round 1:
- CH 3 (counts as first DC), DC in each CH around (120 DC). Join with SL ST.
Round 2:
- CH 2 (counts as first DC), DC in the next 4 ST. *CH 3, skip 2 ST, DC in next 5 ST*. Repeat from * around. Join with SL ST.
Round 3:
- Switch to light blue yarn. CH 2, DC in the next 3 ST, *CH 3, DC in next 5 ST*. Repeat from * around. Join with SL ST.
Round 4:
- Switch to navy blue yarn. CH 2, DC in the next 4 ST, *CH 5, DC in next 5 ST*. Repeat from * around. Join with SL ST.
Mandala Pattern:
Repeat rounds 2-4 until blanket measures desired length, switching colors as desired.
Finish:
- With white yarn, create a border of 1 SC in each ST around the blanket. Join with SL ST.
- Fasten off and weave in all ends using the tapestry needle.
