Elegant Leaf Motif Summer Crop Top

Materials:

• Sport weight cotton yarn (approximately 300 yards)
• G (4.0 mm) crochet hook
• Stitch markers
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Abbreviations:

• ch - chain
• dc - double crochet
• sc - single crochet
• sl st - slip stitch
• st - stitch

Gauge:

4” = 18 dc and 10 rows in pattern.

Instructions:

Body Foundation:

1. Ch 80 (multiple of 10 + 2 for turning)
2. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 3 ch, *sk 2 ch, 5 dc in next ch; repeat from * across, ending with 3 dc in last ch. Turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next 3 dc, *5 dc in next ch-2 space; repeat from * across, ending with 3 dc in turning ch. Turn.
4. Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 16 inches tall or desired length. Finish off.

Straps:

1. Using the same yarn, attach yarn to the top corners of the body. Ch 50 (or desired strap length) and sc back into each chain. Finish off.

Finishing:

1. Weave in all loose ends with a tapestry needle.
2. Block the top gently to shape the leaf motifs beautifully.

Size Adjustments:

To adjust the size, simply increase or decrease the initial chain length in multiples of 10. Make sure to maintain a multiple of 10 for the pattern to work.

Care Instructions:

Hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry.
