Materials
- Cotton thread in pink, cream, and green
- Crochet hook size 2.5mm
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations
- ch - chain
- sc - single crochet
- hdc - half double crochet
- dc - double crochet
- sl st - slip stitch
Instructions
Center of the Flower
- Using pink thread, create a magic ring.
- Round 1: ch 1, 6 sc into the ring, sl st to first sc to close. (6 sc)
Inner Petals
- Switch to cream thread.
- Round 2: ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc in the same st, 2 hdc in each sc around, sl st to first hdc. (12 hdc)
- Round 3: ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in the same st, 2 dc in each hdc around, sl st to first dc. (24 dc)
Outer Petals
- Round 4: ch 1, *(sc, hdc, dc) in same st, (dc, hdc, sc) in next st*, repeat from * to * around, sl st to first sc. (12 petals)
Leaves
- Using green thread, ch 12.
- Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next, dc in next 7, hdc in next, sc in last ch, rotate to work on the opposite side of the foundation chain.
- Row 2: sc, hdc, dc in next 7, hdc, sc, sl st to start, fasten off.
- Make 4-6 leaves depending on preference.
Buds
- Using pink thread, ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring.
- Round 1: ch 1, 10 sc in ring, sl st to first sc, fasten off. (10 sc)
- Sew onto the leaves or use thread to create stems.
Assembly
- Layer the flower with petals over the leaves and buds.
- Sew all elements securely together.
- Attach the finished floral topper onto a gift using yarn or ribbon.
