Crochet Cozy Floral Patchwork Throw Blanket Free Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight acrylic yarn in three colors (e.g., cream, terracotta, mustard)
- Size H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Finished Size: Approximately 50" x 60"
Gauge: 4 inches = 10 stitches in double crochet
Stitch Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- sc = single crochet
Pattern Instructions:
- Floral Motif (Make 12):
1. With color A (cream), make a magic ring.
2. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), and work 11 dc into the ring.
3. Pull the ring tight and join with a sl st to top of beginning ch-3.
4. Change to color B (terracotta): Ch 1, sc in same stitch.
5. *Ch 2, sk 1 dc, sc in next dc* repeat around. Join with sl st.
6. Change to color C (mustard): Working in the ch 2 spaces, *sc, ch 2, sc* in each space around.
7. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. - Patchwork Squares (Make 12):
1. With color C, ch 20.
2. Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across. (18 dc)
3. Row 2: Ch 3, turn. dc in each dc across.
4. Repeat Row 2 until square measures 10" square. Fasten off. - Assembly:
1. Arrange the floral motifs and patchwork squares in a 3 x 4 layout.
2. Using the long tails, sew the floral motifs to the center of each square.
3. Join the squares together using slip stitches or whip stitch method until the blanket is as large as desired. - Border:
1. Join yarn at any corner of the finished blanket.
2. Work 2 sc in each corner, and 1 sc in each edge stitch.
3. Repeat until all around the blanket; join and fasten off.
