- Fiberfill stuffing
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start with a magic ring: Create a magic ring and work 6 single crochets (sc) into the ring. You should have a total of 6 stitches.
- Round 1: Increase in each stitch around. You will have 12 stitches at the end of this round.
- Round 2: *1 sc, 1 increase (inc)*; repeat this pattern around. You will have 18 stitches at the end of this round.
- Round 3: *2 sc, 1 inc*; repeat this pattern around. You will have 24 stitches at the end of this round.
- Rounds 4-6: Work evenly in single crochet (sc) for 3 rounds. You should maintain 24 stitches throughout these rounds.
- Round 7: *2 sc, 1 decrease (dec)*; repeat this pattern around. You will have 18 stitches at the end of this round.
- Round 8: *1 sc, 1 dec*; repeat this pattern around. You will have 12 stitches at the end of this round.
- Stuff the head: Before closing, stuff the head of the jellyfish with fiberfill stuffing to give it a nice shape.
- Finish the head: Decrease in each stitch around until you have 6 stitches left. Fasten off and weave in the ends using a tapestry needle.
- Create the tentacles: For the tentacles, chain 30 in different colors. You can make as many tentacles as you like for a fuller look.
- Attach the tentacles: Use a slip stitch to attach each tentacle securely to the base of the head.
- Add safety eyes: Before closing the head completely, sew on the safety eyes to give your jellyfish character.
- Repeat: Follow the same steps to create a second jellyfish, varying the colors as desired to create a colorful collection!
Now you have your very own colorful jellyfish toys! Enjoy your crafting journey and don’t forget to share your creations with friends and family!
