Breezy Lightweight Shell-Stitched Summer Top

Materials:
- DK weight cotton yarn (approximately 600-800 yards)
- 5.0 mm crochet hook
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
- Measuring tape
Stitches Used:
- Chain (ch)
- Single Crochet (sc)
- Double Crochet (dc)
- Shell Stitch: (5 dc in same st)
Size & Measurements:
This pattern is customizable! The base size is approximately 36” bust measurement, with a length of 24”.
Gauge:
10 shell stitches x 6 rows = 4” square using a 5.0 mm crochet hook. Adjust your hook size if needed to achieve gauge.
Instructions:
- Foundation Row: Ch 70 (or desired width for your size). Turn.
- Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook, sc across (69 sc). Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in next st, *shell stitch in next st (5 dc in same st), sc in next 3 sts; repeat from * across, ending with dc in last st. Turn.
- Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first stitch, *shell in next sc, sc in next 3 sts; repeat from * across, ending with sc in last st. Turn.
- Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for a total of 12 inches or your desired length to the hem.
- Add more rows as desired for length.
- Finishing: After achieving desired length, finish with a row of sc for a neat edge. Weave in all ends.
Shoulder Straps:
- Ch 30, turn and sc down the chain. Fasten off and attach the straps to your desired length on each side of the top.
