Colorful Bicycle Wheel Yarn Bombing Pattern

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in various colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink)
• Size 5.5 mm (I-9) crochet hook
• Tapestry needle

Instructions:

This pattern is made by creating a series of crocheted tubes that will slip over the bicycle frame and wheels.

Creating the Wheel Covering:

1. Start by choosing a color and making a slip knot on your hook.
2. Ch 10 (or as many chains as needed to comfortably wrap around part of the wheel spoke).
3. Row 1: Sc in the second ch from the hook and in each ch across. Turn. (9 sc)
4. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across. Turn.
5. Continue Row 2 until the piece can wrap around the wheel spoke completely. This will vary depending on the size of your wheel spokes. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
6. Repeat these steps with different colors to cover the entire wheel, alternating colors as you prefer.

Joining the Tubes:

1. Wrap each crocheted strip around the wheel spoke one by one, sewing the edges together using the long remaining yarn tails and a tapestry needle.
