Materials:

Gauge:

4 stitches and 8 rows = 1 inch in pattern stitch.

Abbreviations:

• k: knit
• p: purl
• RS: right side
• WS: wrong side

Instructions:

Note: The pattern is a multiple of 4 stitches plus 2 extra stitches for the edges.

1. Cast On a multiple of 4 stitches plus 2 (e.g., 26 stitches).
2. Row 1 (RS): *K2, p2*; repeat from * to * across row, ending with k2.
3. Row 2 (WS): *P2, k2*; repeat from * to * across row, ending with p2.
4. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the fabric measures the desired length.
5. Bind Off: Bind off all stitches loosely.
