Scalloped Summer Top and Skirt Set
This crochet set consists of a crop top and a matching skirt, both adorned with delightful scallop edges. This pattern will guide you step-by-step to create a chic summer outfit.
Materials:
- Lightweight cotton yarn in beige (approx. 400g)
- Contrasting black cotton yarn (approx. 100g)
- 3.5 mm crochet hook

Gauge:
20 stitches and 12 rows = 4 inches in pattern stitch. Adjust your hook size if necessary.

Instructions:
Top
- Start by making a foundation chain of 60 stitches with the beige yarn.
- R1: Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across (59 sc). Turn.
- R2: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), dc in the same st, *ch 1, skip 1 st, dc in the next st; repeat from * across. Turn.
- R3: Ch 1, sc in each dc and ch-1 space across. Turn.
- R4: Repeat R2.
- R5: Repeat R3.
- Continue this pattern of alternating rows until you reach 12 rows in total.
- Next, work R1 to R4 in black yarn, switch to beige for R5 to continue alternating pattern until you reach your desired length (about 16 inches total).
- Finish with a black scalloped edge: (Sc, ch 3, sl st) in each edge st around the top. Fasten off, weave in ends.
Skirt
- Make a foundation chain of 100 stitches using the beige yarn.
- Follow the same instructions as for the top to create the body of the skirt until the length reaches 24 inches.
- Once you reach your desired length, finish with a black scalloped edge as described in the top section.
