Crochet Vibrant Floral Patchwork Coaster Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight cotton yarn in 4 colors (A, B, C, D)
• 3.5 mm (E) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle

Gauge:

4 squares = 4 inches

Pattern Notes:

This pattern is worked in rounds and utilizes basic crochet stitches.

Instructions:

Flower Motif

Round 1: With color A, make a magic ring, ch 3 (counts as first dc), 11 dc into the ring. Pull tight to close. Join with a sl st to the top of the ch 3. (12 dc)
Round 2: Change to color B, ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in same st, *2 hdc in next dc*, repeat from * around. Join with a sl st to the top of the ch 2. (24 hdc)
Round 3: Change to color C, ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 3, skip next 2 hdc, sc in next hdc*, repeat from * around. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (12 ch-3 spaces)
Round 4: Change to color D, in each ch-3 space, work (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc). Join with a sl st to the first dc.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Coaster Assembly

To create the coaster, make 4 flower motifs. Arrange them in a square pattern, overlapping in the center, so that the flowers create a lovely patchwork design. Join each square using slip stitches along the edges or whip stitch to attach. Securely fasten off and weave in any ends.
