Materials Needed:
- Natural raffia yarn
- Crochet hook size 6.0 mm (J-10)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- sl st: slip stitch

Instructions:
Base of the Basket:
- Start with a magic ring.
- Round 1: 6 sc into the ring. Join with sl st to first sc. (6 sts)
- Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around. Join with sl st. (12 sts)
- Round 3: Ch 1, (1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around. Join with sl st. (18 sts)
- Round 4: Ch 1, (1 sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st) around. Join with sl st. (24 sts)
- Continue increasing in this manner until the base measures 12 inches in diameter.
Sides of the Basket:
- Round 1: Ch 1, sc in back loop of each st around. Join with sl st. (This creates a clean edge)
- Round 2-20: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st.
Handles (Make 2):
- Row 1: Decide on the width and placement of the handles, typically around 8 sts wide, leaving equal distance between both handles. Ch 1, sc in each st across 8 sts, turn.
- Row 2-6: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
- Fold the handle upwards and sc it back into the opposite side of the basket's top edge, ensuring it is secure.
Finishing:
- Fasten off and weave in ends with the tapestry needle.
- Shape the basket and handles as desired.
