Crochet Acorn Keychain Pattern

Materials

• Light Green Yarn (Worsted Weight, Approx. 50 yards)
• Brown Yarn (Worsted Weight, Approx. 30 yards)
• G (4.0 mm) Crochet Hook
• Fiberfill Stuffing (Optional)
• Yarn Needle for weaving in ends
• Keyring or Clip (Optional)

Gauge

Gauge is not critical for this project, but you should aim for 5 sc = 1 inch in tight and even stitches.

Abbreviations

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• st = stitch
• sl st = slip stitch
• inc = increase (2 sc in the same st)
• dc = double crochet

Instructions

Acorn Nut (Brown)

1. Start with a magic ring.
2. Round 1: 6 sc in the magic ring. (6)
3. Round 2: Inc in each st around. (12)
4. Round 3: *sc in next st, inc in next st* repeat around. (18)
5. Round 4-5: sc in each st around. (18)
6. Round 6: *sc in next st, dec* repeat around. (12)
7. Round 7: *sc in next st, dec* repeat around. (8)
8. Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff lightly with fiberfill if desired.

Acorn Body (Light Green)

1. Start with a magic ring.
2. Round 1: 6 sc in the magic ring. (6)
3. Round 2: Inc in each st around. (12)
4. Round 3: *sc in next st, inc in next st* repeat around. (18)
5. Round 4-6: sc in each st around. (18)
6. Round 7: *sc in next st, dec* repeat around. (12)
7. Round 8: *sc in next st, dec* repeat around. (6)
8. Finish off and leave a long tail for sewing.
9. Stuff the acorn body lightly with fiberfill.

Assembly

1. Use the yarn tail of the acorn nut (brown) to sew it to the top of the acorn body (light green).
2. Position the nut so that it sits evenly on top of the body.
3. Once securely attached, weave in all ends using the yarn needle.
4. If desired, attach a keyring or clip to the top of the acorn for a cute keychain accessory.
