Cozy Cable Knit Scarf Pattern
Materials
- Yarn: 400g of aran weight wool yarn in cream
- Needles: Size 8 (5mm) knitting needles
- Cable needle
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge
18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Abbreviations
- CO - Cast On
- K - Knit
- P - Purl
- C8F - Cable 8 Front (slip 4 stitches to the cable needle and hold in front, knit the next 4 stitches, then knit the 4 stitches from the cable needle)
- Rep - Repeat
Instructions
Scarf
Cast On: CO 36 stitches.
Pattern:
- Row 1 (RS): *K2, P2, C8F, P2, K2*; rep from * to * to the end of the row.
- Row 2: *P2, K2, P8, K2, P2*; rep from * to * to the end of the row.
- Row 3: *K2, P2, K8, P2, K2*; rep from * to * to the end of the row.
- Row 4: *P2, K2, P8, K2, P2*; rep from * to * to the end of the row.
- Row 5: *K2, P2, K8, P2, K2*; rep from * to * to the end of the row.
- Row 6: *P2, K2, P8, K2, P2*; rep from * to * to the end of the row.
- Repeat Rows 1-6 until the scarf measures approximately 60 inches in length, ending on a Row 6.
Bind Off: Bind off all stitches. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Use the tapestry needle to weave in all ends securely.
Finishing
Block your scarf to even out the stitches and reveal the cables beautifully. Allow it to dry flat before wearing.
