Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight cotton yarn in beige
- Size US 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge:
20 stitches x 26 rows = 4 inches in pattern
Finished Size:
Approximately 10 x 10 inches
Instructions:
Cast On
Cast on 50 stitches.
Border
Work in garter stitch (knit every row) for 6 rows.
Main Pattern
- Row 1 (RS): Knit 5 for edge, *k2, slip 1 with yarn in front*, repeat from * to last 5 stitches, knit 5.
- Row 2 (WS): Knit 5 for edge, *purl 2, slip 1 with yarn in back*, repeat from * to last 5 stitches, knit 5.
- Row 3: Knit 5 for edge, *slip 1 with yarn in back, k2*, repeat from * to last 5 stitches, knit 5.
- Row 4: Knit 5 for edge, *slip 1 with yarn in front, p2*, repeat from * to last 5 stitches, knit 5.
Repeat Rows 1-4 until your piece measures 9 inches from the cast-on edge.
Border
Work in garter stitch for 6 rows.
Bind Off
Bind off all stitches loosely. Weave in all ends using the tapestry needle.
Finishing:
Block to measurements for an even finish.
