Whimsical Spring Petal Brooch Free Pattern

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn: 2 colors (suggested colors: lavender and mint green)
• 4.5 mm (H) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• tr = triple crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st = stitch

Instructions:

Center Circle:

1. With Color A, create a magic ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 1, 8 sc into the ring. Join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc)
3. Round 2: Ch 2, (dc, ch 1) 8 times into the same st. Join with sl st to top of ch 2. (8 dc + 8 ch 1 spaces)

Petals:

1. Switch to Color B.
2. Round 3: In any ch 1 space, make (tr, ch 2, tr) to create a petal. Repeat in each ch 1 space around for a total of 8 petals. Join with sl st to the top of the first tr. (8 petals)
3. Round 4: In between each petal, create a small loop by making (sc, ch 3, sc) in the spaces between petals. Repeat around. Join with sl st to first sc.

Final Touch:

1. Fasten off and weave in all ends. Attach a pin back to the back of the flower if desired for wearing as a brooch.
