- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- dc: double crochet
- st(s): stitch(es)
- sp: space
Pattern
- Begin by creating a magic ring.
- Row 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in ring, ch 2, 3 dc in ring, turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each dc across, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 space, dc in each dc across, turn.
- Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch-2 space, sc in each st across, turn.
- Repeat Rows 2 and 3, increasing the number of double crochets as you progress with each row, maintaining the pattern of increasing at the edges and in the center.
- Continue until the shawl measures approximately 24.5” tall or desired length.
- End with a sc row for a clean edge.
- Border: Finish with a shell stitch border. Ch 1, sc in first st, *skip 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, skip 2 sts, sc in next st* repeat from * to * along the entire edge.
- Fasten off and weave in all ends with a tapestry needle.
- Block the shawl to shape if desired.
