Crochet Delicate Petal Chevron Baby Blanket and Pillow Set

Materials Needed:

• 100% certified organic cotton, #4 worsted weight yarn (approx. 800 yards)
• Hook size: H/8 (5.0 mm)
• Yarn needle for weaving ends
• Scissors
• Measuring tape

Gauge:

14 stitches and 10 rows = 4 inches in chevron pattern.

Abbreviations:

• ch - chain
• dc - double crochet
• sc - single crochet
• sl st - slip stitch
• st(s) - stitch(es)
• sp - space

Instructions:

Baby Blanket:

1. Ch 110 to start.
2. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next ch, *ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next 2 ch; repeat from * to last 2 ch, dc in last 2 ch.
3. Row 2: Ch 3, turn. Dc in next dc, *ch 2, skip ch-2 sp and next 2 dc, dc in next 2 dc; repeat from * to last 2 dc, dc in last dc.
4. Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each dc across.
5. Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until the blanket reaches approximately 36 inches in length.
6. Final Row: Work a scalloped edge by *5 dc in 1st st, skip next st, sl st in next st; repeat from * to end. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Pillow:

1. Ch 45 to start.
2. Repeat Rows 1-3 of blanket pattern until the pillow reaches about 15 inches in length.
3. Final Row: Work a scalloped edge similar to the blanket. Fasten off.
4. Fold the piece in half and use slip stitch to join the edges, leaving a small opening to insert a pillow form. Then stitch it closed.

Care Instructions:

Machine wash on a delicate cycle and tumble dry low. Use a lingerie bag for best results.
