Compact Cozy Hanging Succulent Planter
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight cotton yarn (2 colors)
- Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Small, lightweight succulent plants or air plants
- Optional: Small decorative beads for embellishment
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- st = stitch
Instructions:
Bottom Planter
- Start with Color A.
Make a magic ring (or ch 2, and work into the second chain from hook). - Round 1: 6 sc into the magic ring. (6)
- Round 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12)
- Round 3: *1 sc, 2 sc in the next st; repeat from * around. (18)
- Round 4: *2 sc, 2 sc in the next st; repeat from * around. (24)
- Rounds 5-8: sc in each st around. (24)
Finish off and weave in ends.
Middle Planter
- Repeat the instructions for Bottom Planter, but stop after Round 6, leaving out the last two rounds.
Top Planter
- Repeat the instructions for Bottom Planter, but work only Rounds 1-4.
Creating the Hanging Strap
- Using Color B, ch 35 (or desired length for hanging).
- In each ch, work 1 sc. Turn and continue to work in rows: sc in each st for 5 more rows.
- Connect the strap to the top of the top planter: align and sl st through both the strap and the planter.
- Repeat to attach the strap to middle and bottom planters for a tiered effect.
Finishing Touches:
- Optional: Thread small beads onto the strap for added flair.
- Add your succulents or air plants and hang!
