Woodland Explorer Amigurumi Set
Materials Needed:
- Medium worsted weight yarn in brown, green, and tan
- 3.5mm (E) and 4.0mm (G) crochet hooks
- Fiberfill stuffing
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers
- Small buttons for backpack closure (optional)
- Safety eyes (optional)
Hat Pattern:
Gauge: 14 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches in single crochet
Size: Fits ages 3-5 years
Round 1: With 4.0mm hook, make a magic ring and ch1, work 10 sc into the ring (10) Round 2: 2 sc in each st around (20) Round 3: *sc in next st, 2 sc in next* repeat around (30) Round 4: *sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next* repeat around (40) Round 5-8: sc in each st around (40) Round 9: *sc in next 2 st, sc2tog* repeat around (30) Round 10: *sc in next st, sc2tog* repeat around (20) Round 11: sc2tog around (10) Finish off and weave in ends.
Backpack Pattern:
Base:
Ch 20. Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and across (19) Row 2-6: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across (19) Finish off.
Sides:
Ch 6 (for 2 sides). Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and across (5) Row 2-10: ch 1, turn, sc in each st across (5) Finish off.
Attach the sides to the base using slip stitches. Fold the top flap down and attach buttons for closure.
Assembly:
Stuff the hat lightly and attach it to the top of the backpack. Attach safety eyes if desired, and embellish as you like!
