Baby Yawning Outfit with Hat

This lovely baby outfit is designed for little ones aged 0-3 months. It consists of a snug onesie and a playful hat, both worked in a delightful yellow hue. The hat features a long tail and button details, while the onesie is both stylish and easy to wear.

Materials:

• Yarn: 100% Acrylic, Medium Weight (4), approximately 200 yards in yellow
• Needles: US size 6 (4.0 mm) straight knitting needles
• Buttons: 2 wooden or plastic buttons (about 1/2 inch in diameter)
• Measuring tape
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Gauge:

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Abbreviations:

• K = knit
• P = purl
• CO = cast on
• BO = bind off
• st = stitch
• RS = right side
• WS = wrong side

Instructions:

Onesie

1. CO 60 sts.
2. Work in ribbing (K1, P1) for 2 inches to form the cuffs.
3. Switch to stockinette stitch (knit every row) and work until the piece measures 12 inches from the CO edge.
4. Split for arms: K20, place next 20 sts on a stitch holder for the armhole, knit the last 20 sts.
5. Continue working the back: Work until piece measures 12 inches from the armhole and BO all sts.

Hat

1. CO 40 sts.
2. Work in ribbing (K1, P1) for 1.5 inches to make the brim.
3. Change to stockinette stitch and work until the hat measures 6 inches.
4. To shape the top, K2TOG across the row leaving you with 20 sts.
5. Continue K2TOG every other row until all sts are decreased, then BO.
6. Weave in the ends and attach the buttons on the side of the hat.

Finishing:

Both pieces should be washed gently and laid flat to dry. Attach buttons to the onesie where desired for added style. Your adorable baby set is now ready for some delightful photos!
